Where to travel without a US Passport

Puerto Rico
So you might be thinking, how the heck can I travel without a passport to Puerto Rico. Well for the US citizens, Puerto Rico is a US territory, so as long as you have a direct flight to Puerto Rico or a flight that does not consist of layovers in another country you can travel here without a passport. So make sure when you book your flight does not have a layover in another country or you book a direct flight to travel without a US passport.

Cruise to the Bahamas
I did my first cruise to the Bahamas just last year and all I needed to travel there was a US ID, although I admit I did bring a passport as a back up. The Bahamas is such a beautiful place to visit especially if you love beaches and want a beach vacation without a passport. Cruise life though is a different kind of vacation with mostly being on the water so I suggest you take a longer trip if possible to explore more of the islands. This was one of my favorite places to travel without a passport.
Guam
Guam has the same guidelines at Puerto Rico. As long as you don’t have any layovers in another country this is one of the places to travel without a passport since it is another US territory. Same as Puerto Rico, sure to book a non-stop flight to Guam and back to travel without a US passport. Then, you will be on your way to visiting a beautiful exotic location for your next trip.

New Orleans, Louisiana
New Orleans is a great location for travelers in the US. It’s also not far from Washington DC where you so see even more!

Alaska is a large state near Canada and is known for their beautiful nature, wildlife, gorgeous mountains covered in snow, getting a great view of the northern lights and glaciers. There is a lot to do from dogsledding to ice fishing and eating delicious and fresh seafood. Alaska isn’t just know for the snow, but the perfect cool and comfortable temperatures during the summer months.

Portland, Oregon
If you love beer, be sure to add Portland on your list because they are known for their craft beers! But also like Sacramento, they have a large food culture which makes it great to support many local businesses with delicious food, stores, and beer. Along with all of the things you can do in the city, it is also a perfect escape to enjoy the wilderness and go on some pretty stunning hikes or walks.

Chicago, Illinois
Now if you haven’t been to Chicago, I absolutely loved it there and would love to go back. You can also take a road trip and visit Milwaulkee which has some of the most delicious bloody marys that I have ever had. Chicago is a beautiful city with incredible public art like the Bean behind me in the picture above. On top of that, they are known for their delicious deep dish pizzas. I highly suggest you get a pizza from Giordano’s they are famous there! There are more things you can enjoy there and lots of restaurants perfect for a romantic getaway.

San Diego, California
I chose to put San Diego down on this list because San Diego has a lot of Mexican influence and a great place to get authentic Mexican food. San Diego has some amazing beaches to explore, great views, amazing food and great company. There are so many friendly people in San Diego and everyone is relaxed. There are also a lot of areas where you can bring your fur babies along, making it purrrrfect for dog lovers. There are so many places to check out here.
