Wine Tasting Amador County
I’ve just celebrated my best friends 30th Birthday a week ago. As classy 30-year-olds what better way to celebrate a birthday either than to do wine tasting in Amador County. We love Napa as it is known to be wine country here in California, however, Napa can be very busy which is why we chose to do wine tasting in Amador County. Additionally, Napa can be fairly expensive for wine tasting in comparison to Amador County which made it a better choice for our day. In my post about Wine Tasting in Amador County, I am listing some of the most beautiful wineries we visited for the perfect day in Amador County.
Amador County is located in California and is just 50 minutes from Sacramento, California or about a little over 2 hours away from San Francisco, California. If you enjoy gambling, there is a casino nearby called Jackson Rancheria.
Wine Tasting in Amador County

Karmere Winery
11970 Shenandoah Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669
Karmere Winery is a beautiful winery with a beautifully landscaped patio and has some amazing wine. One of my favorites you must try (this is for dessert wine lovers) is the Sparking Almond. It is a great dessert wine and completely different than any dessert wine I have tried. Additionally, we found the staff here so accommodating and willing to recommend other places to visit. The customer service here was just amazing. It was a great start to our wine tasting in Amador County. We started farthest from our destination to work our way back into town, so this was the perfect place to start.

Iron Hub Winery – Popular Wine Tasting Location in Amador County
12500 Steiner Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669
Iron Hub is a beautify winery on the top of a hill. They recently have a new tasting room which is very modern, bright and open with a lot of gorgeous windows. The people here really know about their wine and you can tell they enjoy what they do. The wine was very good and a beautiful place to add on your list of wineries to visit in Amador County. Iron Hub charges about $5 per tasting unless you buy a bottle of wine of course.

Shenandoah Vineyards
12300 Steiner Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669
Shenandoah Vineyards offers free wine tasting with the exception of their reserve wines which is $5 per tasting. This place was pretty quaint with a few cute items for sale. It has a classic classic chic kind of vibe to this place.
Note: If it happens to be your birthday, they gift a free wine glass and include a free reserve wine tasting.

Helwig Vineyards & Winery – A Favorite Wine Tasting Location in Amador County
11555 Shenandoah Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669
Helwig Vineyards is a very popular winery to visit in Amador County. This place seemed dog-friendly and had tons of great bartenders. There are a lot of wine barrels used as high tops and an outdoor patio perfect for renting out for birthdays or special occasions. Their large patio area looks out to the rolling hills of wine country making it perfect for relaxing during the day.

Andis Wineries – Wine Tasting with Food in Amador County
11000 Shenandoah Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669
Andis was a perfect mid-afternoon stop for us. They have food that you can purchase and snack on including lamb meatballs and cheese platters. Since the weather was great outside we decided to spend it outside on a bar top and enjoy the sun while being served some delicious wine. This place is kid-friendly and dog-friendly. Andis also strives to be environmentally friendly and you can read about its sustainability on their website.

Vino Noceto Winery
11011 Shenandoah Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669
Vino Noceto has a very cute barn and country type of feel. The wine tasting here was free which made this a perfect addition to our trip. The bartenders were friendly and very knowledgeable. This place was a little crowded but less crowded than Andis and Helwig. There is a cute charm about this place which is why we wanted to check it out.

Terre Rouge and Easton Wines
10801 Dickson Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669
Terre Rouge is a great place to taste wine. There are lots of cute little knickknacks as well that you can purchase along with great jams and cheese to try with some crackers. We only made a quick stop here as we had two more wineries but it was a quaint little place to visit.

Scott Harvey Winery & Tasting Room
10861 Shenandoah Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669
Scott Harvey Winery was probably the least favorite of mine. There were not that many people here and I feel like that was for a reason. The wine wasn’t my favorite out of all of the places, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it. Additionally, everyone has a different preference and this just wasn’t my favorite.

Jeff Runquist Wines
10776 Shenandoah Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669
Jeff Runquist Wines has a beautiful tasting room and this place was filled with people. They have a great selection of wines and there is plenty of parking. We took our time here just relaxing and trying the different wines. Finally, the wine tasting here is free as well which was a perfect end to our day.
Bonus: Amador Brewing Company
We added this to the end of our list since we started farthest out and it was the last stop heading back home. We enjoyed our time relaxing and enjoying a beer. They usually have different food trucks stop by the weekends perfect for a snack or meal while enjoying your beer. We needed a break from all the wine we drank.
