I prefer Uber way more than lyft. I have used it a few times in Europe, Mexico and of the course the US. Uber is a taxi ride service that allows you to use the app for an on-demand ride service. It’s seriously a life changer and one of the most used travel apps!

I don’t feel like I use this app often, although it is good to have on hand. If you are having a language barrier between people, this app is perfect! It allows you to speak into the mic and it translates what the person is saying and vice versa. However, you do need to have data in order to us this app, which makes it hard in areas where signal isn’t working or if you don’t have international data.
16 | WhatsApp or Kik Messenger or iMessage
Having some sort of Wi-Fi capable messaging device is important. I listed these three because they are the most commonly used ones. It doesn’t matter which one you have, but it is perfect for staying in touch with family, friends or more while abroad. I chose these for people who do not have international data in their plan because they are perfect to use at any location that has Wi-Fi.

19 | Evernote (FREE APP)
Evernote is my absolute go to note app. I have done notes on iPhone and don’t get me wrong, it’s an okay and nice app, but there was a time that I lost everything on my notes and realized how much more valuable Evernote was to be and being able to keep records of all my notes. I love posting pictures and listing out things I plan to see or do on my travel itineraries and have all that all accessible offline.
20 | Skype or Facetime
Just like the Wi-Fi capable messengers, this is just another way to have some face to face time with your loved ones. Skype is also a good back up for international calling if you do not want to be charged ridiculous amounts of money for calling.
