Da Nang Attractions | One Day in Da Nang
A lot of tourists have come to visit Da Nang because of the huge social media craze about the Golden Hands Bridge. Compared to Saigon, I found Da Nang to be a little less busy, lots of delicious foods and relaxing. What is great about Da Nang is that it is close to the beach which is great for all types of travel. The beach here is super clean, absolutely beautiful, and not super crowded compared to many I have been to in Europe. If you are short on time, then I’m hoping this one day in Da Nang post will help you see many of the popular Da Nang attractions during your short trip.

Da Nang Attractions | One Day in Da Nang
With this one day guide in Da Nang, I hope you can see the most popular Da Nang attractions. Below are the activities I was able to complete within one day in Da Nang.
Ba Na Hills
One of the most popular things to do in Da Nang is visiting Ba Na Hills. I highly suggest you go here fairly early in the day. Ba Na Hills can easily get busy and filled with many tourists. I arrived fairly early and was able to get a lot of beautiful photos before it started getting crowded. Be sure to check out the Starbucks, you’ll get a really pretty view. I think you should spend half a day at Ba Na Hills so you can explore other parts of Da Nang, however, it is easy to spend an entire day here. Book your tickets here.
Things to check out at Ba Na Hills
- Cable Cars
- French Village
- Wax Museum
- Airplane Roller Coaster
- Take in the 4D Death Race experience
- Drop Tower
- Beer Garden
- Lunch Buffet
- Golden Hands Bridge
Golden Hands Bridge – One of the most popular Da Nang Attractions
At Ba Na Hills is the famous Golden Hands Bridge. This beautiful bridge brings in hundreds to thousands of tourists every day. To get the best view or photo, I suggest you try and get to one side of the bridge and face the camera away from the mountain. I suggest you arrive early since this location gets quite busy with tourists. You may not get the Instagram photo you are looking for. I was constantly being pushed by people and accidentally walking through shots and vice versa.
Lunch Buffet at Ba Na Hills or Vietnamese meal down in Da Nang
If you want, there is an option to pay for tickets for the lunch buffet at Ba Na Hills. It seems to be popular with many of the Chinese tourists, however, with me being in Vietnam, I wanted to eat all the authentic Vietnamese food I could. So I went back down into Da Nang and ordered some Banh Xeo at a popular local restaurant.
Da Nang Cathedral
My next stop was to visit Da Nang Cathedral which is one of the most popular Da Nang attractions. This is also known as the pink cathedral. It’s a popular place to take photos, however, you can easily skip this location if you want. In order to get in, the entrance is on the backside of the church. So you’ll have to walk around the block to get inside the courtyard.
Cong Caphe
I’ve raved about this place in my other posts about Vietnam. Honestly, I couldn’t get enough of their coconut coffee. I’m currently craving one right now and I just recently got back from Vietnam almost 2 weeks ago. The lines are very long for Cong Caphe especially the one in Da Nang. Many Korean tourists know about this place due to their love for coffee.
Dragon Bridge
If you happen to be in Da Nang over the weekend, I suggest you try and get a view of the fire show. Although, if you aren’t, that’s okay you can still see the beautiful golden dragon on the bridge. You have probably driven over it by taxi, but try and take a pit stop and take a beautiful photo of the dragon. It’s quite original to this location which makes it a popular Da Nang tourist attraction.
Da Nang Beach
Now, if you are looking for something more relaxing and laid back, then I suggest you spend some time at the beach. Grab some seafood dishes as well while you are there. There are many seafood restaurants along the side of the beach. You can rent some lounge chairs and umbrellas and really take some time to relax. If you want to save money, bring your own towel and just lay alongside the beach or walk along the water.
End your day with a relaxing massage
I must have had a massage every day while in Vietnam. The prices were just so affordable and I think I spent too much money getting one all the time, but I couldn’t resist it. Getting a massage in Korea can be an arm and a leg but even more expensive in the US. When I travel to Southeast Asian countries, this is my opportunity to get some great massages to help me relax and get those crazy knots out of my muscles.
Have extra time in Da Nang, looking for 2 days in Da Nang or Day Trips from Da Nang?
If you plan to spend more time in Da Nang or around the area, I suggest you try and make some more time visiting the locations below.
Visit Sun World Da Nang Wonders
If you are traveling with kids, visiting Sun World’s Da Nang Wonders may be a great option for you. This is a large amusement park that has a lot to offer. If you loved spending time at Ba Na Hills, then I highly suggest you visit here. You can book your tickets here.
Go to Marble Mountains
In this guide on how to visit the Marble Mountains, you’ll see why this is a popular day trip tour from Hoi An and Da Nang. These mountains are a cluster of five hills made from limestone and marble which makes it a popular Da Nang tourist attraction. What makes this location interesting are the cave temples and beautiful mountain top view. You can book your tickets here.
My Sons Sanctuary
If you are going to Hoi An, you can easily take this day trip from there. It is closer to Hoi An than Da Nang, but the trip is easily made from either location. This location is filled with older style temples and on a much smaller scale than Cambodia’s Angkor Wat. You can book your tickets here.
A Day in Hue
Hue was the old capital of Vietnam with a lot of cultural and political influence. There is a lot of history and natural beauty in Hue. If you are interested in lanterns, Hue also has some lanterns that are more triangular in shape as well. If you are traveling from Hanoi, be sure to read this guide on how to travel from Hanoi to Hue.
Planning a day to Hue from Danang is quite easy by booking your tickets here.
How to get to Da Nang
It depends on where you are coming from, but Da Nang airport has an international and domestic side. So you can easily fly here by plane.
How to get around Da Nang
There are several ways to get around Da Nang, it is a fairly large city and some areas obviously can be walkable, but a lot you will need to get a taxi or public transportation to get around. The best way to get around Da Nang is by using the Grab Taxi app. You can easily take a motorbike taxi or if you are traveling with a larger group, you can request a car. The options are listed in the app and I suggest you pay the taxi with cash. I had issues setting up my card, so I just paid cash after the ride was done.
Is one day in Da Nang enough?
Is one day in Da Nang enough? No not at all, there is a lot more to see. I would probably suggest 2 days and then head over to Hoi An. You can easily do some of the day trips from Hoi An as well.
Is Da Nang worth visiting?
I think Da Nang is totally worth visiting, however, I don’t think you should spend a lot of time here. I would try to spend more time in Hoi An or doing day trips from Da Nang. More people would say that they wish they had more time in Hoi An. There isn’t much in Da Nang other than visiting some the popular Da Nang attractions like Marble Mountains, Ba Na Hills, the Golden Hands Bridge, and My Sons Sanctuary.
How do I get from Da Nang to Hoi An?
The best way to get to Hoi An from Da Nang is by taxi or car. It’s about a 45-minute ride and I highly suggest you arrange the ride from your hotel or using the Grab Taxi App. This app will literally be a lifesaver while staying and visiting in Vietnam. You can easily select a motorbike or cab as your form of transportation which was great for someone like me who was traveling solo in Vietnam.
