As someone who grew up in a military household and has family all over the world, I have been fortunate to travel a lot. I recognize that I am lucky to be able to say I can travel. When I was a child, I hated traveling, mostly because of the long wait to get to my destination. That has all changed now that I am older and now that technology has improved drastically.
I grew up with several friends who did not have the opportunity to travel and I was able to take a few of them on my adventures together. A lot of them were afraid, and worried about money, and the excuses go on and on. When I look at my life in comparison to people who haven’t traveled, I realize there are tons of experiences from traveling that have improved me as a person, that helps me enjoy these experiences more than things themselves. So with that said, I want to explain my reasons why travel is good for you!
1. It gives you life experiences different than anyone else.
Embarking on a journey allows you to collect a treasure trove of life experiences that are uniquely your own. No two travel experiences are ever identical, as each destination holds its own blend of history, culture, and natural wonders. There are many excuses we give for why we don’t travel many being we don’t have the money to, we can’t take the time off to, etc. This list goes on and on. While some can prevent you from traveling, there are many resources and other ways you can make it happen if this is truly your goal. Travel has to be your priority in order to make it happen. One of the perks of traveling is talking about your travels. I love talking travel experiences and hearing about other’s travel experiences. Talking about visiting places far different from where you live is a wonderful reflection. I love talking about my experiences especially to people who have never traveled to another country. Traveling allows me to create this blog to help keep a diary of places I have been to and help others catch their dreams of traveling.
7. FOOODDD!
Who doesn’t love food? Traveling makes you an amazing foodie! lol, It allows you to try and taste new foods that your taste buds have never experienced. Luckily for us in the US, especially California, we are able to try all different types of food from all different cultures. But for others, they aren’t as lucky. However, all the food we have in the US isn’t the same experience as being in another country. You get to try the traditional experiences of dining and eating in another location.

Travel is one of the best ways to meet new people, make new friends, and build social connections. Whether it’s interacting with locals or fellow travelers, these connections can enrich your life, social skills, and create lasting memories and friendships. If you go on a solo trip, this is a great opportunity to meet new people that may need a travel companion just like yourself especially while joining some group travel experiences.
After taking my TESOL course, I met so many wonderful people that have traveled and love traveling just as much as I do. I made amazing friends and long-lasting connections in which I hope I can travel with them and visit them someday (and envy any of their travel experiences!) Heck, I even met my husband while living abroad!

Who wouldn’t want to feel happier? There are many positive effects when it comes to travel. Travel has allowed me to escape enduring hours at work, and phone calls and helps me work to be off the beaten path. For me, I love taking the opportunity of just shutting my phone off and being able to take everything in. I love being able to do exactly what I want to do, after all, it is a trip that I paid to go do, right?
It is a great way to get away from the atmosphere of doing what everyone expects of you. Also, if you are traveling to visit family like I so very often do, it helps you feel secure and relaxed. I live alone and thousands of miles away from family, so for me that can always be a security blanket at times. After all, travel does reduce stress.

Exposing yourself to new environments, landscapes, and cultures stimulates creativity. Travel can inspire you to think differently, seek innovative solutions, and see the world from fresh perspectives, benefiting various areas of life, including work and personal endeavors.
12. Because it is in our nature to question everything.
Why not get your answers by traveling to somewhere you have never been? Ask, why do Southern Italy and Northern Italy feud? Some of these answers are better explained by someone living in that country. Explore Vatican City and ask questions that you have always wanted to know about Michaelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, etc.

Who doesn’t want less stress in their life? If you suffer from chronic stress. travel offers an escape from daily routines and can help reduce stress levels. It’s important to take your annual vacation or more if you can to break away from your normal routine. Even a short vacation can severely reduce stress. I always say that I work to live not live to work. Taking a break, exploring new places, and engaging in enjoyable activities during travel contribute to improved mental and emotional well-being. However, it can also provide the opposite depending on your circumstances and how you deal with last-minute changes or if you are new to travel which to some can cause stressful situations.
17. Do it while you can and because you can!
When you get older, life seems to just sort of happen to you. Your youth is a time of total empowerment. You get to do what you want. But as you age, bills start to happen, a family starts to happen, and your responsibilities get in the way of your dreams and bucket lists. Additionally, your physical health may suffer as you age and not allow you to travel later in life. Life is short, take advantage of all that is has to offer!
