When visiting Seoul, you may notice that there are coffee shops on literally every corner. In order to attract attention, most of these cafes have become popular Instagrammable cafes to visit. There are so many cafes in Seoul and they all have something different about them. Drink some of the best coffee in Seoul and explore these beautiful cafes. Theme cafes are popular in Seoul from the famous flower cafes, the Harry Potter Cafe, dog cafes and more. You can also find many of the cafes with beautiful drinks or desserts or just the simplest cafes. I have written this guide you can hopefully visit one of these famous Seoul cafes.

Best Cafes in Seoul | Popular themed Cafes to Visit

I’m not going to lie but most of these cute cafes are in Hongdae. Cafes in Hongdae are some of the best design wise because the university in Hongdae is primarily focused on art. Due to that, so many of these cafes have been designed quiet asthestically pleasing. They are beautiful and definitely worth checking out.

Cafes in Seoul I find are not just for drinking, but its a great place for desserts, to meet with your friends, working out of, and just a place to wait until your next activity, class, and more. Seoul cafes are more than just a place to get a coffee.

Beautiful Cafes in Seoul

Musinsa Terrace

Address: 서울 마포구 양화로 188 17층 무신사 테라스
This is probably one of my favorite cafes in Seoul. This cafe has a gorgeous view especially during sunset. I definitely recommend checking it out and it’s kind if in a hidden spot I would say. You can see the entire strip of Hongdae at night and during the evening. However, if weather conditions are bad, they do close the outdoor area. The outdoor area is covered in wall to floor glass to prevent people from falling. Inside the cafe is a clothing store, tables, and some awesome bean bag chairs where you can relax.

943 King’s Cross Harry Potter Cafe in Seoul

Address: 서울 마포구 양화로16길 24 1층~4층

You can understand why this Seoul cafe is so popular here in Korea. This is not only popular for Koreans but also for many foreigners as well. This is a Harry Potter themed cafe located in Hongdae. Harry Potter is a beloved series and it’s only natural to create this cafe for the fans that are out there. There is a cute area outside of the cafe where you can take photos with the cart going into platforms 9 ¾ and other photo opportunities inside of the cafe as well. The photos say it all about this cafe making it a must-visit while visiting Seoul.

Flour & Kids Cafe

Address: 서울 관악구 봉천로 224 2층

If you happen to have kids, I highly recommend visiting this cafe. It’s one of the most popular cafes in Seoul for children. However, you do need to make a reservation in advance. I suggest this cafe more for people who have young kids ages 1-4 since the cafe is more of a sensory style cafe. They have an entire room filled with flour that your kids can play with and they also have a cooking class aspect as well.

Dingga Cake House Cafe

This is a popular cake cafe in Hongdae that have a lot of cute cakes that look like pizza or designed with some traditional flower patterns. It’s been seen on TV and is a popular place that looks like a house. It has a 50s style vibe with pink and blue colors which it’s interesting to see in Seoul.

Line Friends Cafes in Seoul

If you don’t know who the Line Friends are, well you might not care to visit this Seoul cafe. Although, if you are a BTS fan they do have a collection of BTS line friends. Line friends are popular characters among Koreans. They are stickers created for a communication app called Line. You have probably heard of the Kakao friends as well which is another popular messaging app in Korea.

Perception Cafe

This is a popular cafe to visit because of it’s unique wooden interior. It’s quite beautiful and the coffee is fairly delicious. It’s a quiet space and perfect to work out of or just enjoy some quality time with a friend.

Thanks Nature Sheep Cafe 땡스 네이쳐 카페

Address: 서울 마포구 홍익로 10 서교푸르지오

This is the famous sheep nature cafe in Seoul. It’s been seen on a lot of Facebook videos of the cafe washing their sheep and making them absolutely clean. This famous cafe has been aired on TV for MBC’s “We got married”. It’s definitely worth checking out and located in Hongdae.

2-D Cafe in Seoul Geurim Cafe (그림 카페 Cafe 연님동 239-20)

Experience the 2D world in these beautifully yet simply designed cafe. Here you can take some beautiful photos with clean lines and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. It has obviously become popular because of its aesthetics. This Seoul cafe is located in Hongdae like many of the decorated cafes. If you don’t already know, Hongdae is known for its creative arts program at Hongik University. This cafe was recently shown on the popular Netflix show and book, “To all the Boys Always and Forever.” This is probably one of the most popular cafes in Seoul.

Kingdom 24 Comic Book Cafe

If you are interested in Comic Books, I definitely suggest visiting this cafe. Although, most of the books will be in Korean, it’s a great place to lounge around. A lot of these comic book cafes have private pods where you can lay around and read. It’s also a great place to work out of since there are quite a few tables, chairs, and charging stations.

Archery Cafe

Another popular theme that is on the rise in Korea is the archery style cafes. Here you can learn how to shoot with a bow and arrow. An instructor will be available to teach and train you and you get to enjoy some delicious drinks. The cost is pretty affordable and it’s a great way to have the perfect date with your significant other.

I’m not sure if this counts as a cafe, but they do have drinks and it’s more common to come here for brunch. They have a variety of different types of brunch food, drinks, and it’s most famous for it’s amazing view. I highly suggest coming here if you have the chance for the view alone. You do have to support the business of course, but it’s definitely worth checking out. I think this is one of the best places to get a great view in Seoul.

Snoopy Cafe (카페 아무흐)

If you are a big fan of Peanuts, then this is the perfect cafe for you. This Seoul cafe has peanuts designed coffees, desserts and more. Peanuts was a popular comic in Korea and are nostalgic for many here. I really enjoyed the comics in the Sunday newspaper when I was a child, so I felt the need to visit. The reminded me of all of my favorite characters and relaxing on my Sundays.

Stylenanda Pink Pool Cafe & Pink Hotel Cafes

This is a popular cafe iin Seoul among bloggers from all over the world beacause of it’s cute pink colors and beautifully designed desserts. This cafe is actually inside of a clothing store by Stylenanda, hence the name. Inside you will find a bar full of desserts and you must buy a drink in order to stay inside of this cafe. It was pretty cozy to visit when we wanted to get out of the cold temperatures outside. There is also a small pool inside which is more like a water fountain or so. It’s not meant to swim in, but the aesthetic is to be able to pretend to lounge by the poolside.

Seoulism – One of the popular cafes in Seoul (OFFICIALLY CLOSED)

This cafe is one of the most popular cafes in Seoul because you can get a great view of Lotte Tower in the background. It has been on countless Instagram feeds, Facebook, and so much more. Although it is a cafe, I don’t really consider it to be a cafe since they have a lot of brunch food options. You have to buy a drink when you enter to guarantee a purchase in order to see the view. The area can be quite crowded so I suggest going during weekdays.

caFACE Cafe in Seoul (OFFICIALLY CLOSED)

Are you a selfie queen or king? Then this cafe is perfect for you! You can easily get a photo of your face, your friends, your dogs, or anyone you like really printed onto your coffee. Although, it is a bit disheartening when your picture disappears. This cafe is pretty unique and is a must-visit location if you have yet to visit. Additionally, you can also enjoy a beautiful slice of rainbow cake to eat alongside that coffee.

Raindrop

Address: 전북 익산시 무왕로20길 25

Remember when I mentioned the rainbow cake above, well here at Raindrop you can get a beautifully curated rainbow designed drink. It is the most popular drink here. If you love sweets, be sure to try out their tiramisu, macarons, and meringue. The meringue is also used on another popular drink they serve here.

Sanrio Lovers Cafe

Address: 서울 마포구 와우산로19길 18 산리오 러버스 클럽
This cafe is perfect for anyone who loves Sanrio. I used to love Sanrio so much and Batz-Maru is my favorite. This cafe highlights all the best Sanrio characters. You can purchase plushies, drinks, desserts, and take some amazing photos in this cute cafe. They have a cute little shop so you can purchase all of your favorites.

An Animal Cafe

There are a lot of animal cafes all over Seoul from the cat cafes, dog cafes, meerkat cafes, and raccoon cafes. However, I have always found it cute to hang out with a bunch of bunnies. Bunnies are a lot smaller for these types of spaces. I can’t help but feel bad for the other animals even though I know they are well cared for. Bunnies also usually very sweet and very soft. I had to add an animal cafe on the list and I found this one to be the most enjoyable.

AB Cafe Gangnam No. 1 Branch

This is one of my favorite cafes to visit when the weather is nice. Perfect for when the weather is comfortable outside, not too cold and not too hot. They have a beautiful outdoor space where you can sit outside and feel like you are in a tropical paradise. Don’t worry though, there is a large space inside as well. There are several floors where you can sit, work, and enjoy a nice cup of coffee.

Poop Cafe (또옹카페)

Address: 서울 종로구 인사동길 44 쌈지길

This cafe is an unique one. Many Koreans are obsessed with poop emojis, the Korean word for poop and the Korean word for farts. They find these things quite funny and interesting. So no wonder with a poop museum, there needs to be a poop cafe. This cafe is located in Insadong and they sell the coffee drinks, food, etc. in a cute ceramic toilet cup. It’s quite entertaining and should be visited.

Healing Cafes in Seoul

A healing cafe is a place where you can go to take a nap or relax. Sometimes with all the rush to get things done or maybe you are traveling and you just want to take a quick power nap or relax in between, be sure to find a healing cafe. These are perfect if you don’t want to go all the way to your hotel or apartment and just need to relax. They are all over Seoul and I don’t have any specific recommendations other than you should try one! You will easily be able to catch up on some rest and continue throughout your day.

Every day cafes in Seoul

Now these are everyday coffee shops that you can find on literally any street in Seoul. These are the most popular ones and the ones I recommend you go and check out. Although, same may be only out on convenience. I’ll be listing Starbucks coffee on there only because they are one of the only cafes that are open early in the morning and is the perfect cafe if you need to get work done.

• Starbucks – For work and one of the only cafes open around 7am
• Pak’s – Cheap and delicious coffee. Some are open early and they also have some interesting drinks
• Ediya – One of the best places to get a cheap and fast latte in my opinion.
• Twosome Place – Mostly known for their cakes
• GongCha – Mostly known for bubble tea
• Coffee Bean – They have a super delicious chai latte

Popular Cafes in Seoul that are Closed

So unfortunately, a lot of business are kind of fast businesses in South Korea. A lot of these cafes open and close pretty quickly. I do my best to update this page, but unfortunately I can’t keep up with them all. I just wanted to make a list of some popular cafes that have been seen all over Instagram and you may be wondering if they are still open or if you can still go and check them out.
