So my best friend and I decided to take a day trip to Lake Tahoe, CA and go hiking. What a better place to go hiking than Lake Tahoe, CA. If you have never been to Lake Tahoe, this is a must place to go to, only 2 hours away from Sacramento, California and an hour or so from Reno, Nevada. Lake Tahoe is know for its beautiful lake, mountains, hiking areas, clear water, trees, camping , skiing, and anything outdoors you can think of you can do here. Lake Tahoe is a very popular location during all times of the month but especially during the winter months to get out your snow gear. This adventures series is just a series on my favorite hiking spot in Lake Tahoe called Eagle Creek Falls. So enjoy.
At the start of this hike, is the beautiful view of Emerald Bay. Before you start, be sure to take pictures in front of this great view and near the edge you will see the water fall. I accidentally stumbled upon this hiking location when I was in search of a water fall I saw on the side of the cliff.
This hike is an easy hike, I would say beginner level that takes maybe an hour or less depending on your skill level. It is all uphill and most would call this hike nature’s stairs. There are lots of rocks and great photo shoot areas to take pictures.
At eagle lake, it seems pretty secluded, be sure to bring a swim suit to enjoy the water after the heated hiking. When I went the first time, I didn’t have a swim suit and wish I had brought one because it was a pretty warm day in August. WARNING: the water is ice cold.
If you plan on going to Lake Tahoe, be sure to check out this beautiful hike. Afterwards grab some ice cream at Richardson’s Ice Cream Parlor or grab a bite to eat at The Beacon which has a patio area right on the edge of the beach (definitely try the Rum Runner and the Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos, they are so amazingly good).
