I have been meaning to do this post months ago so sorry for the delay, but now that I have been back to blogging consistently, I wanted to share some of my bucket list items. I will most likely update this in the beginning of the year in 2018 and use this as a resolution for myself to cross some items off my list. Some will be crossed of this year and some next year. These are some of the gems that are my personal 10 wonders of the world. As someone who has a 9 to 5 career and loves to travel, crossing these items off my bucket list takes more time in comparison of the nomads who travel full time as bloggers or digital nomads. However, I would never trade my job for the world.
After traveling to Italy, which was my childhood bucket list country, Spain has always been next on my list. To see the beautiful art by Gaudi has been a dream of mine since college. I studied Modern Architecture in a few of my art classes and Gaudi, although his taste of art is “gaudi”, it has always been super fascinating and original. Ever since, I have always wanted to see the beautiful and magical art of Gaudi in person.
Portugal is a country I don’t hear many people place in their tops countries to visit, however, while Spain has been on the top of my list, Portugal being nearby has been something on my list to visit while visiting Spain. They have the gorgeous castle in Sintra and as a less touristy country, I have found it something to add to my list. I can’t wait to visit here in August!
Oh what can I say about India? The culture, the food, the magical Taj Mahal, and the beautiful colors is what have drawn me to this beautiful country. Not to mention, I am obsessed with Bollywood movies which has only encouraged me to pursue my passion to visit this beautiful and fun country.
Um can I just say that The Blonde Abroad has sold me on this? Looking at her beautiful Instagram photos of Cape Town in South Africa has made my mouth drool with excitement to visit this gorgeous country. The beautiful waters, animals and fresh air has me determined to visit this beautiful part of the world. Also, it is a great way to add a continent to my bucket list.
Singapore and the Gardens of the Bay have probably been on every travel video on Facebook, it’s no wonder it is on everyone’s bucket list. When I had a layover last April while visiting Thailand, the people were so friendly and cultured which made me want to visit this wonderful country more. From someone who comes from a state with a huge melting pot, I find it fascinating to see this in other countries like Singapore.
This is on my bucket list because I desperately have to see the Petra! I grew up watching Indiana Jones movies and my favorite has always been Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where they filmed the Petra. This has been on my list long before people were posting and sharing their photos of their beautiful travels to this place.
Since Jordan is fairly close to Israel, it has been my dream to follow in my mother’s footsteps. Losing my mother to cancer was one of the hardest things for me to go through in my life, but my mother taught me to love myself and travel the world. When my mother was younger and traveling the world, she traveled as a traveling nurse staying in Israel. I want to visit the country she spent some time in and I feel like it would be a good bonding experience for me to travel through her eyes and memories.
The greenery of the country has probably sold everyone in this world, along with the obsession of The Lord of the Rings and the beautiful Hobbit houses. What more can I say? I think the photos speak for themselves.
My parents lived in Japan for a little over 6 years and they have always raved about how beautiful it was to live there. One of my goals in life is to visit all the locations my parents have visited and/or lived in. I hope to at least accomplish visiting places my mother traveled the world to. She has always been an inspiration to my travels. Losing her was the most difficult part of my life, but it showed me that life is short and I should make the most of it.
Who doesn’t want to see Macchu Picchu? Peru is probably one of the most sought out places for beginners to travel to when visiting South America. I have had my eye on this location for quite some time and will hopefully be visiting there sometime in 2018.
Ever since I saw the beautiful blue architecture, I have been dreaming of visiting here. Additionally, I was almost tempted to visit during my visit to Spain in August, but I am not sure if I will be able to squeeze it in last minute. Visiting Morocco has always been a dream of mine and one day I will be able to make it happen and enjoy all this beautiful country has to offer.
